Herbs & Herbal Remedies
Herbal extracts and tinctures are derived after macerating parts of plants and trees i.e. root, bark, leaves in alcohol for a period of time before straining and bottling. Herbal remedies are once again generally recommended for a specific ailment and only work on the physical body, they are far cruder in nature and their chemical constituents can be analyzed and measured.
Herbology, basically, is the use of herbs in the treatment of many types of illness. Herein the emphasis of treatment is based strongly on the specific use of herbal roots, flowers and leaves to stimulate the healing process. Keep in mind that these herbs are not a form of drug(as in man made forms, such as aspirin) but are strictly natural in content. Practiced for centuries, herbology is probably one of the most primitive and fundamental uses of specific remedies to treat various illnesses, known today.
Natural herbal remedies include the intake of herbs in different forms; Herbal remedies can come as herbal tinctures, herbal supplements and herbal drinks. Most common natural remedies are in supplement form though many do still prefer the herbal tincture. Herbal remedies are inspired by age old wisdom and knowledge of herbs and their uses, and have inspired brands like Fushi Wellbeing. Most indigenous people had their own remedies for everyday afflictions.
Spagyric, most commonly refers to a plant tincture to which has also been added the ash of the calcined plant. The original rationale behind these special herbal tinctures seems to have been that an extract using alcohol could not be expected to contain all the medicinal properties from a living plant, and so the ash or mineral component (as a result of the calcination process) of the calcined plant was prepared separately and then added back to ‘augment’ (increase) the alcoholic tincture. The roots of the word therefore refer first to the extraction or separation process and then to the recombining process. These herbal tinctures are alleged to have superior medicinal properties to simple alcohol tinctures, perhaps due the formation of soap like compounds from the essential oils and the basic salts contained within the ash. In theory these spagyrics can also optionally include material from fermentation of the plant material and also any aromatic component such as might be obtained through distillation. The final spagyric should be a re blending of all such extracts into one ‘essence.’
Natural herbal remedies are safer. There is no shortage of evidence to support their effectiveness and safety. In further support of the safety argument, why not find out for yourself how many people died last year due to unintentional medicine overdose or medical error. Whilst, herbal remedies work together holistically to balance your body so that it is better able to not only get relief and fight off common illnesses, but also prevent these ailments from coming back in the future.
